I wrote a thing - Sweaty D

It's a "Why I Write" thing for my Creative Writing. They're fun to make; you should try it!
So...how's school for you? Working on anything cool? Any birthday requests *cough* Leah *cough*?

  1. Favorite lines:

    1. and let me make, for you, tragedies and comedies because I want nothing more than to bring you to your psychic knees

    2. We like people who are as broken as ourselves, don’t we? Catharsis always feels nice.

    3. this is more about their antithesis, the light that radiates from between the pages of books. This is about that mysterious human exercise of trying to crawl into a writer’s mind and peer out through their eye sockets

    4. And this is about all the things in yourself, that you hate, being doctored by empathy. And of spiritual loneliness alleviated. And of the sound of one among the pines screaming, across rooftops, his convictions. And of pouring my emotional blood onto a page. Now, doesn’t that sound sacred? Or at least worth trying?

At first I was sort of lost and sort of worried it'd turn into a giant cliche, but then as I read on, I started to really like certain lines, (like to ones above) and then the idea as a whole, and then I just re-read and really really liked it. The whole ice skating metaphor seems a tad on the surface cliche, so if I had to give any suggestions, I'd say to perhaps try to stick with one metaphor. Like, refer back to the title instead of the ice skating metaphor, even though it is a nice idea.

Anywho, I don't know whose birthday it is that you're talking about, but I suppose if I had to put myself in a birthday person's shoes, I'd say...since she's a girl, she could probably make use of something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006DIADNW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A189JNVGY6Y2W8. She probably wouldn't mind if you searched for the cheapest one, cause she seems cool like that.

Otherwise, I bet she'd like some Polaroid film like this for her hypothetical Polaroid camera: http://www.amazon.com/Impossible-PRD2785-Polaroid-600-Type-Cameras/dp/B00FKVWI90/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=impossible+600+film

    1. And hypothetically of course, if a boy in Texas were to buy one of those products, and if someone else was also considering purchasing one of those products above, those two people should like contact each other so this anonymous birthday girl doesn't get two of a thing...y'know? hypothetically, of course.
